Auckland War Museum
After getting back to Auckland on the night of the 19th (and staying at the same, nice & quiet hostel in Mt Eden), I went with Jorgen (a Norwegian guy I met at the hostel) to the Auckland War Museum, before heading to the Auckland airport, where we were both on the same flight to Los Angeles

01-Manaia Manaia, a traditional Maori musical group, which performs daily in the Auckland War Museum ... I visited the museum with Jorgen, a kid from Norway that I met at the hostel in Auckland, who was on the same flight to Los Angeles that night that I was 02-Manaia Manaia ... they actually said, 03-Manaia Manaia had lots of cool routines, and their performance lasted about half an hour, capped off by the Haka, the Maori War Dance, which was the highlight of the day for me ... I also got the entire haka on video tape, as well as 30-second segments of some of the other dances 04-Jared-Manaia-blurry I know this is a bit blurry, but here I'm posing with a couple members of Manaia with one of their spears, being all fierce sticking my tongue out like a good Maori :-) 05-Whare A Maori whare inside the Auckland War Museum 06-PolynesianSeafaringVessel Polynesian Seafaring Vessel 07-PolynesianCrucifix Polynesian crucifix ... it's fascinating to see how different cultures represent things that are familiar to us 08-Spitfire A Spitfire fighter, used in WW II 09-Remember Auckland War Museum 10-AucklandWarMuseum Auckland War Museum
